This beautiful religious sculpture by the Surrealist Master was created in 1980. The front has 16 brass appliqués which are said to represent Dali’s tears. Four red glass beads hang from the four corners. Twelve gold plated “rays” emanate from the cross which can be interpreted as 12 rays of the universe or God. There is a small threaded hole at the top verso which can be used for inserting a rod for table placement. Two strong hook hangers, one on each side, could be used for wall mounting. Some tarnishing of the “rays” has occurred over the years, and other “flaws” would have occurred during the manufacturing process. This sculpture was Dali’s first work in the medium of marble, and was created in 3 types of colored marble: beige, black, and green. See more art, discounts, and special offers in our ebay store! |
