Famous iconic image from Hokusai’s famous “36-Views of Mount

Fuji” series!

This desirable masterwork is, of course, by Katsushika Hokusai
(Japanese, 1760-1849), one of the most famous names in Japanese art. It is part
of Hokusai’s magnificent series, the Thirty-Six
Views of Mount Fuji
and was
originally designed between 1829 and 1833. Initially intended to comprise thirty-six
prints, the publisher added an additional ten images, to bring total number of
plates in the series to forty-six. The series includes some of Hokusai’s
greatest masterpieces. In each image of this series Mount Fuji appears in some
form, often in the distance as it does here in this fabulous print.

This design is one of the masterpieces of the series. The
title is “Fuji from Kajikazawa in Kai Province.”
This is the famous scene showing a fisherman casting his net into
the turbulent sea. A boy sits behind him on the jagged outcropping tending the
basket holding his catch. Mount Fuji rises in the distance with only it’s
summit peeking above the fog.

Would be magnificent displayed on your home or office wall.

This reprint would be a
superb choice for any collector. It is truly a classic image from the golden
age of ukiyo-e.
It was made from
meticulously recarved wooden blocks and was printed using exactly the same
techniques – and with the same rich color and excellent detail – as the
original.
Later edition prints like this make an exciting
addition to your collection and are a wonderful way to decorate – at a small
fraction of the staggering cost of one from the first edition print.

Matted and framed, this print
would make a stunning presentation by itself or would be an impressive addition
to an arrangement with other prints. It is one you will be proud to display in
your home or office and is bound to become a cherished family heirloom.
