Cathedral Fine Art

“The Favourite Hound”
by G. Glen, circa 1920’s
oil painting on canvas, framed
signed

canvas: 30 x 20 inches
framed: 36 x 26 inches

Superb portrait of a favourite dog, portrayed in a lakeland landscape, most likely the Scottish Highlands. The breed of the dog is not known (to us, at least) but it carries tremendous character and presence standing proudly and with great pride.

The painting itself dates to the 1920’s period and is so evocative of that golden era. It is in its original frame and came from a very good collection, here in the Cotswolds, England.

Condition report:

The painting shows its age, but is very presentable and ready to be hung. Some age related markings, slightly uneven canvas that would benefit from tightening and plenty of cobwebs verso!
