This is a beautiful and soulful oil on canvas of what appears to be a spaniel – although breeds were rather less defined in the antique past than they are now.

It is by the
much listed artist Colin Graeme Roe (the artist sometimes signed himself
Colin Graeme & sometimes Colin Graeme Roe – here he has signed
Colin Graeme – reputedly because he chose not to use his surname after a
fearsome falling out with his family) who died in 1910.

Colin Graeme is an
extremely sort after & prestigious artist, he often sells at  International Auction Houses Sotheby’s and Christies and has sold at Bonhams
prestigious Dogs in Show and Field yearly auctions in New York.

To own this is to own a worthwhile classic painting by a very well regarded artist which can only accrue in value.

It is in very nice condition, I imagine it has been cleaned in the last decade or so, tiny amount of craquelure – see images – and comes in a lovely and substantial gilt frame which is a good 2 1/2 inches deep.

SUPERB!

Painting 11 by 9 inches
Framed 16 by 18 inches

I WILL NOT BE RELISTING THIS ITEM, SO IF YOU WISH TO MAKE AN OFFER, THIS IS THE MOMENT! or forever hold your PEACE!
